Jeaniene Frost: Once Burned Review

- May contain Minor Spoilers -
So, my first time reading a Jeaniene Frost book, one might say I'm a Frost-virgin... Okay just forget I said that.

My first impression of this book was "Oh no, it's going to be a book where you're the female lead 100% of the time". Why was I thinking this? I like reading books where you're the male lead and the female lead both 50% of the time because it give me a chance to know what both of them are feeling and thinking. Like really getting inside their heads.
I was kind of scared that I'd get tired of this book around halfway because of this but I was wrong.

This book was awesome and the fact that you're only reading Leila's side made it better. Why one might ask? Okay well, Vlad is this mysterious no sharing type. Leila, doesn't understand shit about him either, like seriously she just doesn't get him. His emotions, intentions, etc.
It feels like you're getting so much more connected to Leila, because you're actually feeling her frustration which is awesome. But I have to say sometimes, the frustration got a bit too much for me, there were a couple of times that I just had to put the book down beside me, take a deep breath and just go for a walk.
This little fact actually made me wonder how much I let the book get to me, kind of funny.

All in all this book was amazing, I felt like I was missing some things because I haven't read the Night Huntress books and the Night Prince series (Including Once Burned and Twice Tempted) is actually a spin off from the Night Huntress series.
There's a point in the book where the main characters from Night Huntress show up and they have some sort of realtionship with Vlad, but I didn't know where those feelings came from and didn't really understand them.

So my advice for this book:
Read this book, it's pretty awesome. BUT get some background info about Night Huntress or read them, personally I haven't read them yet but I'm tempted to get them simply to know where the "red line" between the books is!! I'll make sure to tell you all about it if I have read them!
7/10 for this book. It was great but I feel like here and there, there are some things.
